The Glor na Daire Academy of Irish Dance at Corpus Christi is the only competitive Irish dance school in the Coastal Bend and is under the direction of Abbey Pride Wood, TCRG, Brent Wood, TCRG, and Sara Busti. The academy is comprised of 5 locations in what is considered the Southern Region of Irish Dance in North America, with schools in Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC, Augusta, GA, Jacksonville, FL, and Corpus Christi, TX.

Abbey Pride Wood, TCRG, began dancing at the age of 6. She became one of the first four champion dancers in the Southern Region as well as the first girl from the South to qualify for and compete at the World Championships in Dublin, Ireland. Abbey then opened the Glor na h'Eireann School of Irish Dance, becoming the first certified instructor from the Southern Region.
Brent Wood, TCRG, began dancing in 1988 & won 3 Eastern Regional Oireachtas Championships, a National Championship, & competed in 5 World Championships. He helped found the Drake School in 1990, & eventually became a certified member of the Irish Dancing Teachers Association as licensed instructor & Director of the Drake School Carolinas. Brent was an original member of the show "Common Ground" & has performed with well known Irish musicians, including the Chieftans, Cherish the Ladies, the Wolf Tones, Eileen Iverson, & many others.

Brent and Abbey have joined talents and love of Irish Dance to form the Glor na Daire Academy. They currently have two Southern Regional champions and have consistently produced World Qualifiers for the past 15 years. Their students have performed with lead dancers of Lord of the Dance, Magic of the Dance, Riverdance, and Common Ground, and Irish musicians such as Seven Nations, Eileen Ivers, Lehey, and Celtic Crossroads.
